What advice do you have for someone who may have bipolar I disorder?

Christine

If anybody out there thinks that they have any inclination of being bipolar, my suggestion would be, don’t hesitate to go get help.

Gabe

You have options. Get help now. Don’t wait. There’s just no reason to wait.

Margaret

Five kids and living with it for years. I wish I was diagnosed earlier.

Gabe

I wish that I could have been found sooner. But I wasn’t. And that’s just not how my story went. But yours doesn’t have to go this way. Being diagnosed with bipolar disorder is scary, and I understand why it’s scary. It’s a scary illness, but it’s an illness and there are treatment options available. And you can work with your doctor and you can learn to manage the symptoms of bipolar disorder.

Margaret

Go talk to others, go talk to family, and then go see a physician.

Gabe

And if you get help and you work with your doctor and you do all the right things, you can lead your life.

Christine

Being diagnosed with being bipolar doesn’t mean the end of your life. It doesn’t mean you have to stop living. The doctors can actually help you manage.

Margaret

It’s manageable, treatable, and it’s not a death sentence.

Christine

Margaret

Gabe
