What Is VRAYLAR?

Managing your schizophrenia is a top priority for you and your healthcare provider. VRAYLAR is a once-a-day treatment that was proven in 6-week clinical trials to help manage the overall symptoms of schizophrenia in adults. VRAYLAR also reduced the overall severity of their condition.

How Does VRAYLAR Work?

VRAYLAR is thought to affect the activity of neurotransmitters, which may be too high or too low. However, the exact way VRAYLAR works is unknown.

Starting and Staying on VRAYLAR

Treatments like VRAYLAR start working gradually over time. Every patient is different. That’s why it’s important to talk with your healthcare provider about how VRAYLAR is working for you.

Things to Keep in Mind When Taking VRAYLAR

Take VRAYLAR® (cariprazine) once a day.

Take once a day

It’s important that you take your prescribed dose of VRAYLAR as directed, even if you start to feel better.

Take VRAYLAR® (cariprazine) by mouth.

Take by Mouth

Do not stop taking VRAYLAR or change how much you take without checking with your healthcare provider first.

Take VRAYLAR® (cariprazine) with or without food.

With or Without Food

Take VRAYLAR once a day, with or without food.

Possible Side Effects of VRAYLAR

In clinical trials, the most common side effects were:

  • Difficulty moving or slow movements
  • Tremors
  • Uncontrolled body movements
  • Restlessness and feeling like you need to move around
  • Sleepiness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Indigestion

Patients taking VRAYLAR experienced changes in blood sugar and cholesterol similar to those who took a placebo. In the 6-week clinical studies, patients with schizophrenia who took VRAYLAR experienced an average weight gain of 2.2 pounds, compared to those on placebo who gained about 0.7 pounds.
